Kathy’s Run started in Edmonton and honours a former ATCO employee, Kathy McCollum, who lost her fight with pancreatic cancer in 2011. Kathy’s passion for running inspired her friends, family and colleagues to create this event in support of life-saving research for pancreatic cancer - the number one underfunded cancer in Canada.
In 2011, the goal for Kathy’s run was to get 100 participants and raise $10,000. The support was overwhelming and the run had almost 500 participants and raised more than $50,000. Fast forward nine years and the race has raised more than $800,000 for Pancreatic Cancer Canada.
